Please be advised that the traffic lanes on Horizon Bridge have been adjusted as of this week. These changes are as follows:

  • Southbound Traffic (from Snuffer’s to The Harbor): Traffic has been reduced to a single lane, accommodating both left-turn and straight movements.
  • Northbound Traffic (from The Harbor to Snuffer’s): There is a designated left-turn lane for access to I-30 and a straight lane for continuing to Snuffer’s and Lakeside Village.

Rockwall, Texas – July 22, 2024 – TxDOT has released additional information about the Horizon Bridge Construction. Please also take note of mainlane closures between Bass Pro and Dalrock next week. TxDOT will begin work on an extensive construction project on Horizon Bridge, which crosses Interstate 30, and will cause mainlane closures on the Interstate. Lanes on I-30 will be closed Friday night, August 2nd and Saturday night, August 3rd from 10pm to 9am the next day. Side street and lane closures will begin around 8pm, allowing for construction at 10pm. Rockwall, Texas – July 16, 2024 – TxDOT will begin work on an extensive construction project on Horizon Bridge, which crosses Interstate 30. The bridge will be closed Friday, August 2nd and Saturday, August 3rd from 9pm-9am.

Friday Night (August 2nd, 2024): At 9pm, all eastbound lanes on I-30 will be closed at Horizon Road. All eastbound traffic will exit at Horizon Road, continue on the frontage road and re-enter I-30 just past the Home Depot Store. Westbound traffic will be reduced to one lane starting east of 205. All lanes are expected to be open at 9am Saturday morning.

Saturday Night (August 3rd, 2024): At 9pm, all westbound lanes on I30 will be closed from exit 67 to Horizon Road. All westbound traffic will exit at exit 67/ Ridge Road in front of Walmart, and will continue on the frontage road to re-enter I30 on the Horizon Road entrance ramp. Eastbound I-30 traffic will be reduced to one lane starting at Horizon Road. All lanes are expected to be open at 9am Sunday morning.

Additionally, the underpass on Ridge Road will also be closed, making Goliad Street/205, John King Blvd, and FM 3549 the only roadways allowing north and south bound traffic during this time.

We want to stress the careful planning being done by our Police, Fire, and EMS teams to ensure this project goes smoothly and with minimal disruption. All affected businesses will be contacted to ensure they are aware of the upcoming closures and can make necessary arrangements. We understand the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as TxDOT works to improve our infrastructure. Specific information about traffic control plans to come.

Rockwall, Texas – July 16, 2024 –The City of Rockwall advises residents and commuters of upcoming single lane closures on the I-30 Frontage Roads. These closures are necessary to facilitate ongoing construction and maintenance work. Please note that one lane will remain open at all times to ensure traffic flow.
